How to make a DaWanda Pinboard

  1. Log in and go to My DaWanda.
  2. Press My Pinboards and you will find that one has been already set up for you by DaWanda. If you had previous saved favourite items these will show up here.
  3. Give your pinboard a name - At the top of your board is an editable section... You can change the title and leave a message. If you had items already stored, they will show up below... each will be in it's own box and you can add comments that you would like to share. You can also delete (remove from pinboard), add to basket or forward any items to your friends.
  4. Adding a new item to your pinboard - as you are browsing through the site and look at any item in more detail you will find in the top section that you can give an item a heart, add to pinboard, or forward to a friend. Select add to pinboard and choose which board you wish to add it to. You can also add a comment here... this will be visible on your pinboard once saved.
  5. Creating a new pinboard - When you find a new item and select add to pinboard you can choose to add to an existing board or a new one. Select a new one and give it a name.
Comment on other people's boards - there is an area at the bottom of each board for comments from viewers...

Viewers can also buy from these boards, so show off those great finds!

8. Tell me a bit about you...

I have been creating my own bath and beauty products for 2 years. Since I can remember, I've been concerned with all of the "mystery" ingredients in store-bought bath products. When I lived in Arizona, I found that it wasn't just folklore to use fresh aloe vera juice on sunburns--it actually worked to soothe and heal the burn! I'm a high school science teacher, and it's not always possible to buy the best products for my body on a teacher's salary! I began to research nature's own remedies for the common needs of the body; products I could use myself to be at my healthiest. I quickly discovered that the Earth contains many ingredients that gently clean and heal the skin, and leave it more moisturized than a store-bought product ever could. My discovery of nature's remedies, coupled with my passion for creativity, led me to create Aspen Spa--a line of beauty and bath products made with whole ingredients from nature. I enjoy creating new products, using them myself, and sharing them with friends, family, and now customers.

9. Do you have a website, or blog? No

My First Sale!!

I am so happy! I made my first real sale on DaWanda last Friday and the best part of it is that the customer loves the earrings! :)

Here they are:

It was really my "salvation" as I was prepared to give up my shop. I got an order which it was supposedly to be my first sale 9 days ago and I am still waiting to be paid... Actually, I am not 'cause I already asked the DaWanda team to cancel it. Too sad!

I just hope it will be the first of many sales! ;)

Adding your DaWanda Widget to your DaWanda Community Page.

You can add a DaWanda widget to your page on http://dawandashopping.ning.com/. All you need to do is look under your profile box and there will be a text box. Press 'edit' and add the DaWanda code from your shop.

You can find your DaWanda shop code by logging onto your DaWanda shop page... at the bottom of your shop page there is an 'integrate these products with your website button'. Press that and you will be taken to the screen where you can make your widget. Choose your row and column numbers (how many you want to show) and choose your colours (you can press preview here if you want to). The code is then worked out for you, so all you need to do is copy the text in the little box and paste this into your page on http://dawandashopping.ning.com/. Once you press save your page here will reload with the shop link showing.

Yay, Thanks DaWanda for making my life so much easier!

DaWanda Shop Directory: March Blog Carnival - Vintage Crafts

Please note that this carnival is postponed until I return... therefore I am still accepting entries, so feel free to read about this months theme at DaWanda Shop Directory: March Blog Carnival - Vintage Crafts

How do I confirm a sale?

DaWanda will email you when an item has sold from your shop. You then need to confirm the sale to the buyer. You can do this by;

  • Log into your DaWanda account
  • In the ‘Overview’ you will see a blue link that says ‘New Sale’. Press this and you will be taken to your ‘Sales’ page
  • You will see new and pending sales under the ‘Open Sales’ section at the top of the page.
  • On your new sale, press ‘Confirm Sale’ on the right hand side. You will then be taken to the details of the invoice.
  • You will need to type in the confirmed Shipping amount in the relevant box… make sure to check where the Buyer has asked you to ship!
  • Then press ‘confirm’.
  • The buyer will then receive an email from DaWanda stating that their purchase has been confirmed and that they need to pay for the goods.

Remember if you want your Buyers to pay with Paypal, or to your bank account you must set these up before you confirm the sale.

Selling Online

The Problem

Sara asked me a few days ago to write an article about making the best of your Dawanda shop, since she had read several threads in the forum where sellers showed their concern about the low amount of sales they had. I have to admit that I had mixed feelings about the topic.

On one hand, I absolutely love Dawanda. I love the place, I've had the pleasure to confirm the efficiency and maximum care for sellers that the administrators have, I love the politeness on the forums. Oh, and listing is free! I do not even consider moving my shop to that "other" online venues with more traffic.

On the other hand, I really dislike that "ohmygod I'm not selling" attitudes from sellers. If venues like Etsy have such a success, visitors and sales, it's 80% a merit of sellers only. Etsy sellers are fans of Etsy; they buy there, organize themselves in Street Teams, write blogs, make blogrings, Flickr groups... and a million things I could add here. They promote the venue everywhere, all the time.

I don't see that on Dawanda. If projects like Sara's promo bags are doing so well, why not do it and send her your items? If what we need is traffic, then it's our responsibility to bring it in, in all the ways we can. We cannot just list things and wait for sales to come – selling online is not that easy, on Dawanda or on any other digital market.

To be honest, the only seller that makes a success is the one that works hard and patiently. You can't expect a flood of customers if you have only five items, badly photographed with your camera phone. You can't make what everyone else is doing. You have to become a real professional in order to have a successful life as an online seller. From banners to categories, from pic's layouts to business cards, everything is equally important. Look for an art/craft seller that is making a life out of Internet, and 9 out of 10 sacrifice long hours, sleep and personal life as much as someone who has a "physical" shop. If you really think there is success and future without complete commitment to your business, maybe you should be doing something else.

Do everything that is at your hands to promote your shop, don't use shortcuts and learn from those that you admire. And waste your time learning and becoming a better artist instead on complaining on the forums.

Tips To Become A Better Online Seller

LOVE what you do: the key of it all. If customers can't feel your passion about what you make, you will never sell it, no matter how well done your product is. You have to be in love with what you create to make others love it too. I think that the secret to find our true creative energies is to give it time and being humble. Look up for those that you admire, but don't copy! As we are all unique, there IS a unique way for you to express yourself.

A cohesive look: your banners, advertisements, business cards and pic layouts should all go in a theme, so customers can identify you easily and quickly. Iconographic branding is one of the most important parts of your business, believe it or not! Your image should reflect not only your personal tastes, but also the market niche you want to get to.

Good photographs: you won't make a sale without them. Learn to use macro settings and be playful and original. Attractive colours and textures can say more than any description, and they are the calling for impulsive buyers.

Good descriptions: the more information the better. Customers love to read a mix of personal stories, inspirations and all commercial data about the product (size, weight, uses, etc.). Take your time! My tip: writing descriptions in a document instead than in the listing window – I always write longer and better descriptions when I can see the whole text, and I can use the spell check. The key for non-impulsive buyers.

Professional customer care: there are quite a few online sellers I will never buy again from because they didn't even bothered to send me a thank you note, wrap the parcel secure and pretty, and things like that. A good presentation and safe shipping are a must to make your business known. Your customers are your only investment – treat them as they deserve! Always send them a thank you message after their purchase, and another one when their item is shipped.

Networking: be everywhere! Organize groups, participate in sample gatherings, promote other artists in your blog, write in forums, write in Squidoo, Stumble your friend's pages... again, the more the better. You won't attract traffic if people can't find you.

Organize your time: check the traffic at your page and learn to select the places where good traffic comes from, and leave others aside, so you get targeted traffic. Targeted traffic=sales. Give promoting a time every day, 30 minutes for example, and keep inside that time!

Don't put all your eggs in one basket: diversify the applications of your knowledge by teaching, giving seminars, selling locally, selling at home parties, etc. Online selling has better and worse times and you don't want to rely all your income on it. Also, the more things you do, the most interesting your blog will be. Customers want to know about the artist as much as they can, and who wants to know about the life of someone who's always at the computer?

Become an expert: first, learn as much as you can about your craft; then, help others learning for free. Writing articles, making tutorials and helping in forums is the best way to earn a good reputation, and will always take you to sales.

Conclusion
Having an online business is not instant success; it needs commitment, sacrifice, and above all, it needs true Love, because if you don't love what you do, you will grow tired of it quickly – and patience and continuance will be very much needed to make your business succeed. This process can take a long time and you shouldn't be afraid to make sudden turns and change your business direction until you really find something you can't get tired of exploring. There are no failures, but new beginnings!

How much is this in my currency?

Do you need to work out Euros into US Dollars, or British Pounds? Well, there are lots of easy to use currency calculators on the Internet so do not fear!

This is my favourite http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html

All you need to do is select the currencies you wish to work out, in this case I chose to convert 1 Euro into British Pounds. Then you press calculate and in the top box appears your conversion rate. Couldn’t be easier! Remember to add on the postage amount so you get a total idea of the cost of your item!

Jenny B's Bottlecaps - The First Craft Fair.

Ugley Farmers Market - A step into the unknown....

It would have to be one of the coldest mornings on a while when I have to get up and leave the house early! by the time we left at ten past nine it had at least reached about freezing, but only by one degree!

Setting up was fine and I managed to get my table presented reasonably nicely although my chalk board canvas idea for the price list didn't work at all - good job I took some paper with me!

So this is how my little corner of the little room looked!

There were only 4 of us in the little craft room, as half term had kept sellers away as well as many buyers! but the lady next to me who was selling various textile items bought a little magnet of a bee as her granddaughter is called Bee.

It was good to network and meet people, and I am very grateful to Angela (who I met through freecycle) for introducing me to her friends. It was great being able to tell the lady with the textiles (apologies for not remembering names but my nerves blocked all of them out today apart from Sue (the organiser), Angela and Steph who makes soaps) about the online opportunities such as Etsy.com and Dawanda, as well as pick up contact details for future events, such as the Countess of Warwick fair in Dunmow which is held in august.

After advertising on facebook, one of my contacts RSVP'ed that he would be attending, I didn't expect him to at all, but he and his partner came over. I was kind of shocked as I hadn't seen him in about 2 years - at least. But it was wonderful to see him and he even picked up a Mother's Day gift from my stall - and some essential beer I noticed! This was the set of three he purchased:

Apparently January, February and March are particualry quiet and even more so today because of half term. So I am encouraged that I was about to cover my costs of the stall on a very quiet morning especially as the lady who has the signs that say "more stalls this way", as you had to walk through the kitchen to get to us (!!) wasn't there this week. If I go again though I am only able to get floor space as the regular photographer who is normally where I was will be back, but David has worked out that I could simply use the tripod to hold my white board.

Its given me a slight boost in confidence depsite waking up wishing it would be cancelled this morning!

Bring on the 15th March!

Start your ratings off with a purchase!

Why not start off your selling ratings with a purchase? It’s a great way to earn much needed feedback on a new shop and for potential buyers to see how you work. It also helps you to understand the buying process, so that when you get your first purchase you know exactly how you as a customer would like it to be dealt with.

A New Look Directory!

Hi Directory Readers!

As you may have noticed this morning the Directory has a new look. I am hoping the new 3 column layout will provide easy reading and help to frame the articles and seller features, to show them off a bit more.

All links are here as they were before, but some have been moved to the new left column. These are; at the top left - links to DaWanda and then links to the advertised shops there. Below those are the DaWanda blogs and then the links for you to find other seller communities on DaWanda, which is an area we hope to grow over the coming year. The right hand column will now be dedicated to Directory links, resources, shops and information only.

I have also limited the front page articles from 20 to 10, this I think will help keep readers interested in current affairs before they explore individual topics. And remember there is also room for shop advertisement at the bottom of the blog (all advertising is currently free - see Advertising on this site to book yours!)

Enjoy,

Sara x

How to browse the directory of Shops.

It's simple; use the link on the right hand panel of this blog, called 'View my Links page' and you will be sent straight to the directory. Once you have found someone you like, press their highlighted name to go straight to their DaWanda shop.

There are lots of great artists and crafters there so do come in and take a look.

Please note that if you press the 'I Love DaWanda' logo at the top of the directory page at any time you will be taken back to this site.

How to List Your Item.

I know listing an item for sale can be a daunting process so I have made this little guide to help you out!

  1. Log in to Dawanda
  2. In the upper right hand corner click "Sell my products". This will take you to the "List a new product page".
  3. Choose your item category, sub category, and whatever category you would like it to be in your shop. If you are listing an item that is similar to another item in your shop you can click on the link "Click here, to use one of your items as template"
  4. Fill in titles and item descriptions in one or even all three of Dawanda's languages. Don't forget your keywords!
  5. Add your prices for the item and shipping both domestic and international. If you don't want to ship internationally don't check the check box.
  6. Write how many you are selling in the quantity field.
  7. Click "Save and Continue" and be magically transported to the "Upload Product Images" page.
  8. Now for the fun of uploading your item pictures! You can have up to four images. I suggest using your most straightforward and eye catching picture as your default. People are more likely to look at something with a clear nicely lit photo. Click on Browse and it will open a menu for you to search through your computer to find your item photos. Once you have found it click on it and hit ok. Then click on Upload Image and Tada! your picture is now on the listing. Repeat for up to 4 pictures of your item.
  9. Save and Continue to get to the "Preview Item" page. This will show you how your listing will look on Dawanda. You can view your listing in all three languages using the text links of "de", "en", and "fr" at the top of the screen.
  10. If everything is ok click the huge "List this item" if not click "Edit Item details" and follow the previous steps to return to this spot!

I hope this guide helps all of you new and old Dawandians? Dawandites? or perhaps new just Dawanda sellers!

Networking? Try Indiepublic!

This is a great new site where crafters can meet, chat, show off their work or items for sale and also enter brilliant competitions. I've been a member for a few months now and love the way the site works and also the people I have met, so I thought it was about time I told you a little bit more about Indiepublic.

Here is my interview with Indiepublic's founder Sion, from mid October 2007...

1. What is http://www.indiepublic.com/?

Indiepublic is a social network for independent artists, designers, retailers and those that blog about them, as well as a site for their supporters.

2. When and why did you decide to set up a social network for Independent Artists?

The "when" is fairly simple; Indiepublic was launched in July of 2007. The "why" is slightly more involved. Here's the story: I also have been running another blog called Cuteable (http://www.cuteable.com)/ since October of 2006, with an emphasis on cute things for you and your home. As Cuteable grew, I found myself continually inspired by the creativity, hard work and friendliness of independent artists and designers, and wondered if there was another way to give these wonderful folks a "home" on the web.

After several months of thinking I hit upon the idea of creating a social network, whereby these artists and designers could not only further promote their businesses, but also make friends and be inspired by one another. Indiepublic is the result of these efforts, and has exceeded my expectations beyond my wildest dreams.

3. What can I see and do there?

There are quite a few things you can do on Indiepublic! Members of course can create their own personal profiles and share their photos, videos and start their own blogs. They can also make friends with other Indiepublic members as well as join groups and participate in the forums. In addition, we have a Learning Library where you can read tips and tutorials from our members, as well as an ongoing Member of the Day which features one randomly selected member to be featured on the homepage.

All of this can be quite overwhelming for newcomers, which is why I've put together a FAQ (link: Indiepublic - FAQs) to help folks get started.

4. How many members are there?

At present, we have approximately 2950 members. We should pass the 3000 member mark before the end of this month, which is very exciting considering that Indiepublic started with a single invitation to 10 of my closest blogging and Etsy friends!

5. I noticed a new site Indie Contests…What is Indiecontests?

Indiecontests (http://www.indiecontests.com)/ is a brand new site I launched with deals and contests from independent artists, designers and retailers (as well as bloggers). As both an artist and a shopper, I thought it'd be great to have a single place where people could not only find great deals but also further promote their indie goods and services. Like Indiepublic, Indiecontests is of course completely free and has been very popular, with over 300 submissions in less than a month.

Thank you Sion for talking to us about Indiepublic!

Also for anyone interested there is a group of us already on their, so come over and check us out at http://indiepublic.ning.com/group/dawanda

b) An Estherly piece that was made out of an old beaded necklaces which I have destructed, and mixed the beads together with some beautiful tear-drop turquoises and Czech fire polished beads to become a piece that can be worn as a multi-strand bracelet or a multi-strand or a single strand necklace.

I am Bluei

8) Tell me a bit about you...

I am currently residing in the Netherlands with my husband whom I have married to for 7 years now. Since young I have been active with music, crocheting and knitting but it was only 3 years ago that I learned about jewelry-making and started beading. Even though I hold a degree in computing, I always enjoy the "softer" part of the industry like multimedia and web design more than the nerdy stuffs, and later I started my own business and was heavily involved in sales and marketing. When I decided to come up with my own handmade jewelry label, it was a turning point in my life when I truly recognized my own talents, my strengths and my identity. Estherly is my platform to combine the things that I have learned all these years into one place. I enjoy the whole creative process and I absolutely love ideas! The whole process of starting and building up my own business is exciting and fun. My greatest satisfaction comes when I receive a thank you from people who have bought my jewelry and enjoy wearing them.

9. Do you have a website, or blog? Yes it is at http://estherly.com/

Blogging while you are away!

I often get asked how I manage to keep all of my blogs going, even if I am really busy with other things... what's my trick? Well, it's not so much a trick as forward planning... and maybe a bit of workaholism! I usually carry a note pad everywhere I go, I got used to it when I was working full time as a fashion designer... you never know where inspiration will hit! The truth is I've never got out of the habit of carrying this thing around with me... I often think it has a life of it's own, as I'm sure I never pack it in my bags to go on holiday, but sure enough it's the first thing I find when I'm looking for the sun cream!

This little note pad comes in handy when it comes to blogging though... often notes and jottings can quickly be turned into ideas for blog posts - great if you are in a rush! If I get the time I will write up a few of these ideas into my blog and 'schedule' them to publish on separate days... this means I don't have to think daily about something to post! So how do you schedule a post on Blogger? It's simple...

Firstly write your post and add the labels, as you would usually. Then press 'Post Options' on the right hand side of the labels panel. A menu will appear, asking for a date and time. Once you have selected your day for posting, all you need then do is to press 'Publish Post'. Google's blogger then stores the article until the date and time you have selected and publishes it for you.

Thank you blogger!

Do You Squidoo?

For those of you who Squidoo there is no need for an introduction but I’m sure that there are plenty who probably have never heard of Squidoo. In this post I will try and explain what Squidoo is and how you can use it as a useful tool in promoting your craft business.

So what is Squidoo? Squidoo is basically an information website. It is a collection of lenses on a myriad of topics. A lens is an informational website offering expert knowledge on just about anything. Lensmasters are the people who create lenses and are viewed by others as credible sources of information.

Squidoo offers some very useful advantages to a lensmaster.

Fast Google Indexing – Your lens with good target keywords can be indexed in 2-3 days. That’s fast!

High Google Rankings – When you target your lens to a specific keyword it is often picked up within the first 3 or 4 pages of Google. Google loves Squidoo so it makes sense to take advantage of this.

Simplicity – This is what I love about Squidoo it is so quick and easy to use. You can have a lens up and running in about 5 minutes.

Free – I like free and Squidoo is free so you can have an unlimited number of lenses.

Getting Started

The first thing you have to do is to sign up. Remember, it’s FREE. Visit www.squidoo.com where you will find a link to sign up. You will be asked for your name and e-mail address, now you’re ready to start. Click on the Create A Lens button. You will be asked what your lens is about.

Next, you will be asked what you want to do with your lens. I tend to choose the option I want to do my own thing. This will pre configure your lens for you. You can always adjust the lens layout very easily if you don’t like the settings.

You will now be asked to give your lens a title. This should be your main keyword phrase, e.g. your business name or specialised subject matter.

Now you have to pick your URL. This cannot be changed so choose wisely. Ideally it should match your keyword. You could use your DaWanda shop name here.

You will have to choose a topic category. Just ensure your category matches your lens content. If your lens is safe for all ages then click on the option.

Step 4 will give you the option to add more keyword tags to your lens. The tags are mainly for other Squidoo users. You can always add more later on.

Step 5 will ask you how you want to get paid. Yes, that’s right; you can earn money from Adsense clicks as well as eBay, Amazon, Cafepress, etc. This is optional as you don’t have to use any of these modules. You have the option of donating any payments to Squidoo, your choice of charity or you can keep the money for yourself, or a combination of both.

Step 6 will now ask you to reconfirm your e-mail and to choose a screen name. Your screen name will show up above your Bio. You can choose your real name or use a pseudonym. Fill out your real name and enter a password. Finish the registration and then you’ll be ready to designing your lens.

In my next post I will explain more about designing your lens and which modules to use. If you can’t wait then try having a go yourself. The best thing about Squidoo is that it is very easy to follow and much of it is just common sense.

So get yourself over to Squidoo and have a good poke about. Make sure you check out Sara’s Squidoo lens on DaWanda. It can be found at www.squidoo.com/DaWanda_store_crafts. If we can all promote our DaWanda stores then maybe Squidoo will make up a module for use like they have just done for Etsy sellers.

A Christmassy Day Out in London!

Oh I adore Christmas, so what better way to spend a rainy November Sunday... than to go shopping at a Christmas Fair!

The lovely Stephanie of http://en.dawanda.com/shop/coccinelfe

sent me a ticket to go to the Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair at the Business Design Centre in Islington (London).

That's me in the purple top and jeans... and yes that is a shopping bag you see... I told you I adore Christmas! There was no way a cold and rainy day was going to put me off either!!

The show was a fantastic mix of larger a smaller companies, both new and those more established. So it was great to see the rise of a few more handmade companies and especially to meet Stephanie and see her wonderful sugary, fairies up close.

This is the best shot I could get of Stephanie's stand... she was just too busy to get that perfect magazine spread photo, but as you can see it was very well laid out and had everyone going mad for her work. It was like a little cake store of fairies! Needless to say I came home with one, I found a cute little fairy flying around Stephanie's stand and with some help we caught it in a jar. She's a cheeky little fairy though... always poking her tongue out at me!

Want a fairy of your own? Why not catch one of Stephanie's new creations...

Introducing... Sma bla!

1. DaWanda Shop Name: små blå – Swedish design
2. DaWanda Shop URL: http://en.dawanda.com/shop/smabla
3. When did you open your shop? Member since 30th Nov 2007
4. Are you in the DaWanda Shop Directory here? Just added my link – if you’ll have me!
5. What Category are you under? Jewellery
6. What do you sell? Jewellery made from sterling silver and semi-precious gemstones. I mainly work with wire wrapping in Eni Oken-style and cold forging of silver. When I need a break from that I do some beading.
7. Describe 2 of your current products.

a) I love bracelets, but as I spend my days at a computer they are just not practical to wear. They just keep getting in the way. So I wanted to make a bracelet full of lovely stones, but yet so "flat" on the backside that it wouldn’t get in my way while working. And after much trial and error I finally figured out how I should make the perfect combination of band and clasp. And I am very pleased with how it turned out.

I started with wrapping a handcrafted frame with very thin wire and bound 10 nuggets of lovely turquoise within it. In heavier gauge silver I cold forged the combined band and clasp and attached it to the frame. And then, just to add some patina, I oxidised the bracelet.
b) I really don’t consider myself to be a romantic person - but still - I keep on making very romantic stuff like this Sweet Heart necklace. Must be a hidden personality!

Anyway – this is a very sweet piece of jewellery. The heart is handcrafted in sterling silver wire that I first gently hammered and then wrapped in thinnest silver wire. I coiled up the two ends and between them I strung one gorgeous little garnet faceted briolette (6x6mm). The chain consists of 3mm garnet rounds that I strung together with fine silver wire and of a very fine and almost sparkly silver chain. All metal is oxidised sterling silver.

This piece is – due to the thin wire used in the chain – somewhat delicate and I would recommend wearing it for quiet dinner with your loved one but that you do take it off before doing anything physical. Like mountain climbing, scuba diving and such…;-)

8. Tell me a bit about you...

I think I’ve been doing craft my whole life. Skipping from one craft to the other – all very fun a whole five minutes - and then by chance found jewellery making. Who thought you could make your own lovely little pieces with just some supplies and basic tools?

But then again – I’m one of those people that always say: I can do that – easy!! (A tonne of unfinished/unsuccessful projects hidden in my wardrobe will give you an idea.) So when my husband and I were invited to a rather posh shindig and I couldn’t find just THAT ring I was looking for – what did I do? Yep, I did one myself – easy. Well, I could make it, but it wasn’t so easy at first. It took some time to figure it all out, but all these little beads and pliers and thingys just captured me.

Now I’m addicted and don’t think I ever will stop. There is so much to learn - so many techniques and so many beautiful beads and stones. But there’s also a whole world of other craft out there just begging and luring me with promises of grandeur. Knitting, crocheting, paperwork ….. the list goes on and on and…

I live in the south of Sweden with husband, daughter, two furry cats and a big house, that apparently didn’t come with a house keeper (who knew?) and as I also have a day job, my days are pretty full. My hubby – who doesn’t share the same level of enthusiasm for craft as I do - says I’ve used up all my hobby-points for a lifetime.

I tell him I’m a cat with 9 lives.

And I’ve only used one!
Oh, and do you wonder about the name, små blå? It means something like – small blue or tiny blue. As in tiny blue beads…

9. Do you have a website, or blog?

I have a Swedish site http://www.smabla.se/ but that one is sorely neglected. I keep it mainly because I don’t want to let go of the domain name. I also have shop on Etsy http://www.smabla.etsy.com/.

Get a Mentor for your new DaWanda store!

The idea has been raised at http://en.dawanda.com/topic/2/126757 by http://en.dawanda.com/shop/birdlandcreations

It will need a lot of community support, especially from those who have been here longest, but I think it could really be a great idea for new shops to get help from a 'mentor'. If you are interested in the idea please post a comment on the forum thread at http://en.dawanda.com/topic/2/126757
